Want to make your own Halloween game? Here are 10 spooky game ideas, each with a prompt you can copy straight into Flikk. Type one into the Create tab, and Flikk builds the game in about 15 minutes. No code, nothing to install.
We tried every prompt ourselves, so for each idea you'll also see the game plan Flikk gave back: the name it picked, a quick sketch and what it understood. At the end, we show the one we built and give you a few tips to make any game spookier.
Quick note: Flikk is our app. Every game plan below is real. The prompts are what we typed, with small typos fixed.
Before you start: test prompts for free
When you type an idea in the Create tab, the companion (the little green robot) answers with a game plan: a name, a sketch, tags like 2D or 3D, and the rules. Getting a plan is free. You only spend Tokens when you tap Build it.
So go ahead and try all ten. Pick 2D or 3D before you type (we note which one we used), compare the plans, and build the one you like most. Not quite right? Tap Edit, change a few words and look again. Our game prompt guide explains what makes a prompt work.
Tip for 2D games: the "Pick a look" screen has a Haunted Match asset pack, full of pumpkins, ghosts and potions. It's a quick way to make any 2D game look like Halloween.
1. Candy Sort
Sort the trick-or-treat candy into the right buckets before the bag overflows, while a ghost steals a candy every few seconds.
2D. Flikk called it Spooky Candy Sort: you drag treats from an overflowing trick-or-treat bag into color-matched buckets in a graveyard, and tap the thieving ghost to scare it off before it grabs your candy. The plan came with fifty levels that get faster and trickier.

Make it yours: change what's being sorted. Costume pieces, potion bottles or monster parts all work the same way.
2. Ghost Catcher
Tap the ghosts floating out of a haunted house before they escape, but don't tap the bats. The ghosts get faster every round.
2D. This became Haunted Ghost Tap, a high score game. Ghosts rise up the screen, you tap them before they escape, and the bats are hazards you must not touch. Speed and spawn rates go up every round, and there's a daily challenge with special spawn patterns.

One thing changed: our prompt said "haunted house", but the sketch is a graveyard. If the house matters to you, say where it is ("a haunted house at the top of the screen").
3. Pumpkin Patch Runner
Run through a pumpkin patch at night. Swipe to dodge scarecrows, jump over rolling pumpkins and collect candy corn for a high score.
3D. Flikk made Pumpkin Patch Dash: swipe left and right across three dirt lanes to dodge scarecrows, swipe up to jump the rolling pumpkins, and grab trails of candy corn. The run speeds up every 250 meters, and the sketch shows the camera right behind the runner.

Make it yours: swap the runner. A witch on a broom, a black cat or a skeleton all fit.
4. Witch's Cauldron
A match-3 game where you match eyeballs, mushrooms and spider legs to fill the witch's cauldron before the moon rises.
2D, with the Haunted Match pack. This one became Witch's Midnight Brew: match tiles on a graveyard grid to fill the cauldron while a moon creeps up a timer track. If the moon reaches the top before the cauldron is full, the night is over.

Here's a lesson we didn't expect. Flikk swapped our ingredients to fit the asset pack, and said so at the bottom of the plan:

An asset pack only has the pieces it has. If your exact items matter, pick No asset pack instead, and the AI draws everything itself.
5. Haunted House Escape
Find the key in each room of a haunted house and reach the door before your candle burns out, while a ghost wanders the hallways.
3D. Flikk called it Candlelight Escape. You move with an on-screen joystick, tap furniture to search for the hidden key, and sneak past ghosts or hide in wardrobes. Your candle is your light and your timer at the same time. The plan has 50 mansion layouts that get bigger as you go.

Make it yours: add a twist to the ghost, like "the ghost only moves when your candle flickers".
6. Skeleton Stack
Stack falling skeleton bones as high as you can without the tower toppling. After 10 bones, a spooky wind starts blowing.
2D. This became Bone Stack Spook. You slide along the top of the screen to line up each bone and drop it, and the bones wobble and balance with real physics. After 10 bones, the wind starts, changes direction and gusts harder the higher you build. One bone falling off ends the run.

The wind is what makes this one work. A simple stacking game turns into a fight against the weather.
7. Trick-or-Treat Dash
Move a kid in a costume through a dark neighborhood with a joystick, ring doorbells to collect candy and run from the zombies on the lawns.
2D. Flikk made Trick or Treat Terror: steer a trick-or-treater with a joystick, tap to ring doorbells, and fill your bag before the lawn zombies wake up and corner you. The plan has fifty neighborhood blocks with winding sidewalks, fences and cul-de-sacs.

Make it yours: give the kid a costume power. A ghost costume could walk through fences, a vampire could move faster at night.
8. Bat Flight
Tap to flap a little bat through a graveyard at night, dodging tombstones and swinging lanterns.
2D. This became Graveyard Flap, a one-tap high score game. Tap anywhere to flap, fly over tombstones and under lanterns that swing like pendulums, and grab potions and glowing pumpkins along the way.

The shortest prompt on this list, and it still got a full plan. One clear action ("tap to flap") is enough.
9. Graveyard Defense
Place pumpkin cannons along a graveyard path to stop waves of zombies. Each wave is bigger than the last.
3D. Flikk made Pumpkin Defense, a tower defense game. Tap plots along a winding path to build and upgrade pumpkin cannons, and stop walking, sprinting and armored zombies before they reach the cemetery gate.

Make it yours: add a second tower type, like "a scarecrow that slows zombies down".
10. Monster Quiz
A spooky Halloween trivia game show about monsters, horror movies and Halloween traditions, with a candle timer that blows out when time runs out.
3D. This one became Haunted Trivia Show: a creepy game show stage where you tap one of four answer stones before the candle on the podium burns down. Fifty levels of five-question rounds, with shorter timers as you go.

We liked this plan so much that we built it.
We built one: Haunted Trivia Show
We tapped Build it on the Monster Quiz. The game opens on a title screen that says it all: "Answer before the candle burns out." There are 50 levels, and you play them as five-question episodes.

Each question sits above a 3D stage with jack-o'-lanterns, candelabras and a single candle on the podium. That candle is the timer, and you can watch it burn down while you think.

You have three hearts per episode, and a wrong answer costs one. Answer all five and you get "A perfect episode!" with three stars. Lose all three hearts and the game ends with: "The candle is out!" We didn't ask for it, but Flikk added a "Watch ad to relight the candle" button to that screen, so you can keep going from where you were. It even kept the candle theme.

The questions fit the theme too: witch's familiars, Dracula's Transylvania, Frankenstein's monster, bobbing for apples and the legend of Stingy Jack. All of that came from one sentence.
How to make any game spookier
Already have a game on Flikk? You don't need a new one for Halloween. Open your game's page, tap Make Edits and describe the change. Each edit takes about 5 minutes, and your players keep the old version until the new one is ready. Here are edit ideas to try:
- The setting: "Make the background a foggy graveyard at night with a full moon."
- The colors: "Change the colors to orange, purple and black."
- The enemies: "Turn the enemies into ghosts and skeletons."
- The light: "Make the screen dark, with only a flashlight circle around the player."
- The feel: "Make the phone vibrate when a monster gets close."
- The details: "Add bats that fly across the screen now and then."
- The game over: "When you lose, a ghost pops up and waves goodbye."
A few things we learned from our ten prompts:
- Give the timer a costume. Our two best plans turned the clock into something spooky: a candle and a rising moon. It's the easiest way to make a normal game feel like Halloween.
- Add one spooky twist. The wind in Bone Stack Spook and the ghost in Spooky Candy Sort turn simple games into a fight.
- Say where things are if it matters. "Haunted house" became a graveyard until we said more.
- Keep it fun, not scary. Cute ghosts beat gory monsters.
